Northern lights trekking tour in Iceland
Northern lights are active the whole year. They are just not visible as we need a little darkness to be able to see them. In Iceland, we have daylight for 24 hours from June to mid-August when it starts to get darker. The Northern Lights can surely spice up our trekking tours. The highlands where there is no light pollution, and no infrastructure are the perfect surroundings for cool light shows. In our tours from the 20th of August, we stay alerted for Northern Lights. Our guides bring with them professional camera to help us search for the Lights and when they flair up we will hopefully get some cool photos.

Taken near Hólaskjól Highland Center at the end of the tour.
Eldgjá Canyon trekking tours
We operate our Eldgjá Canyon trekking tours to the end of September. In September the probability on good lights shows are more than in August as it starts to get dark in the evening.
To see the Northern Lights, we need:
- Open sky without clouds or at least some cap in the clouds.
- Activity from the Sun.
If these conditions are fulfilled is likely that we will get a light show.
Eldgja Canyon trek is a four-day trek in the unspoiled nature of the Highlands. This is off the beaten-path tour.
